West Herts. Area Group of the Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers

The object of the Group is to promote narrow gauge railway modelling at approximately 16mm = 1ft (equivalent to 1/19 full size) mainly running on 32mm track for a prototype 2ft gauge or 45mm track to represent 3ft gauge prototypes. These scales of modelling are big enough to enable live steam locomotives to run on tracks in your own garden.
Members run live steam (coal, gas or meths. fuelled) as well as battery powered

Over the summer months we run regularly on our members own garden lines as well as, monthly, at the Brambleton Model Railway Club’s extensive 16mm layout adjacent to the Highfield Oval in Ambrose Lane, Harpenden, Hertfordshire.

In the winter months meetings are continued by using the groups indoor layout on Saturday afternoons at Berry Lane in Rickmansworth
